Q18# New coffee drink

You think the Japanese marketĀ  is ready for another coffee drink. But you’re wondering, what is the best way to test your new drink?

Should you..

1) give out free drinks in your coffee shop?

2) give out free drinks at your carts?

3) charge for the drinks at a reduced price at both locations?

4) offer discount coupons for it?

5) ask cusomers to buy one regular drink and give them the new drink free?

6) try another approach?

    I am going to choose number1 because of my experience. I often go to coffee shops to study, and one day, when I was studying in starbucks, a staff gave me a small cup of new coffee unexpectedly. I was surprised at it, and I had got happy slightly. the staff said that the new coffee will be available in 2weeks. that taste was, of course, good, and I wanted to buy next time.
    I have two reasons to choose it. One is that it makes customers surprised and happy a little bit because they are not able to expect to get free new coffee unless they are on line and see that thet are able to get it. I think that it cause a huge differences. the second reason is that the costomers taste the new coffee positively. they get the new coffee by chance, so they try it with slight happiness. do you think that they taste it negatively?

    Is the surprise aspect a large part of why a customer would want to try the new coffee later?

    Or is it simply also the idea that you didn’t have to wait in line to try it and were given a new level of service in this offered sample?

    I would like to choose No,1. im not giving out free drink but sample of our new coffer like star backs do. when customers come to our shop, we will give out small sample of it at the register. if they like it they can buy it at that time.

    I’ll chose 2. If we use our carts, we can go wherever we want to go and we can allow all ages people from children to adults to try our new drink. I think if we want to test new drinks, we should try to test which taste young people tend to like and old people or which taste female tend to like and male. In order to do this, it is better for us to move everywhere easily. That is why I’ll chose 2.

    I would choose 1 and 4.
    Giving out free drinks in the coffee shop attracts customers at the shop. I love tying new drinks or food for free. If you don’t like new drink just don’t buy it. But if you love it then you can buy it right away!
    Some of customer(like me) might wanna buy new drinks then.
    Besides 1, we can approach new customers by giving coupons out side of the shop.
